Poverty reduction is the overarching goal of development interventions. Impact Monitoring can be used to ensure that development interventions and policies are better oriented to the needs of the poor. Effective impact monitoring efforts should help you understand, measure, and improve poverty outcomes of development interventions.

Our work on Impact Monitoring relates to three interconnected aspects:

• Evaluations: we undertake to evaluate the poverty impact of development interventions
• Monitoring: we undertake to monitor project implementation to ensure that poverty objectives are met
• Methodology Development and Training: we use insights from the evaluation and monitoring experiences to develop new and appropriate tools and methods, and share learning through training programs.
