Dr. R.M.K Ratnayake holds a PhD from the School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London. He is a fellow of the United Nations University and has served in multiple Ministries in different administrative capacities.  He serves as a Director of Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLITT) and Lanka Industrial Estates Ltd (LINDEL). He also served as a member of SAARC Poverty Commission.
