Sritharan Someetharan is a young filmmaker and a journalist focusing on socio-political issues in Sri Lanka for over ten years.He was living in war-torn Jaffna back in the 80s and his personal experiences led him to express the destruction of war through a cinematic lens. He started his career as a radio personality focusing on social, cultural, political and environmental issues across the island. After migrating to Chennai in 2004, Somee has produced several documentaries including Burning Memoriesand Mullaitivu Saga.

Somee will share his experiences as a filmmaker focusing on war and post war issues in Sri Lanka. He will also discuss the documentary Burning Memories which was well received at the recent screening in Colombo.
