Nurturing Nutrition through Strategic Research Intervention.

CEPA always believes in research work that changes and enhances the lives of people regardless of gender, racial or ethnic identities. Our idea of a South Asian research and practice consortium works in this direction. Here we intended to locate how fiscal and trade policies interact with dietary patterns and consumption choices to impact nutrition and health outcomes. And through our findings we intend to change not only thinking, but people’s lifestyles.

Our team of researchers will identify avenues for strengthening healthy diet with better integration of fiscal and trade policy across the Asian region. We will develop country-specific analysis to overcome wastage, stunt and obesity. Focusing on understanding how policy reform can address gender disparities that tend to cause poor health and nutrition outcomes in South Asia, we will locate the potential conditions that could improve healthy diets across many a spectrum of life in variegated conditions.

This project is led by Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) – Pakistan in collaboration with ARK Foundation – Bangladesh, South Asia Watch on Trade Economics and Environment (SAWTEE) – Nepal and the Centre for Poverty Analysis (CEPA) – Sri Lanka.
